Based on "Rules and Guidelines to the Test of Professional Competence for the Estate Agency Practice" 2nd edition - 1 Sep, 2007,
2.00 FORMAT OF TEST OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE
2.01 The Test of Professional Competence for Estate Agency Practice consists of:
(a) A minimum of two years continuous practical training in Malaysia under the supervision of a registered agent.
(b) Submission of a Work Diary.
(c) Submission of a Record of Experience - not less than 500 words
(d) Submission of Practical Tasks*; and
(e) Attend a Professional Interview**.
* Practical Tasks are subdivided into 2 parts:
(a) Task 1 (2,000 - 4,000 words, appendices not counted)
A report showing step by step agency practice - ideally a sales transaction of a house.
(b) Task 2 (2,000 - 4,000 words, appendices not counted)
A marketing proposal of a high rise building - ideally a condominium.
** Professional Interview is further divided into 4 parts:
7.01 All candidates will be interviewed on the Practical Tasks including the following:
(a) Property law and taxation (Law)
(b) Estate agency practice and techniques (Practice)
(c) Topical matters (General)
(d) Estate agency acts, rules and standards (Rules).
About 3 to 5 oral questions per sub areas.
